Most deposit deductions come from a short list of places tenants forget: inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, inside cabinets and drawers, and the bathroom fixtures. Inspectors open doors, so a home that looks clean from the doorway can still fail.
Start high and work down. Wipe the tops of cabinets, ceiling fan blades, and light fixtures first, then the counters and cabinet interiors, then baseboards, and finish with the floors. Cleaning in that order means nothing falls onto a surface you've already done.
Empty appliances completely before cleaning them. Pull out shelves and drawers in the fridge, run the oven's self-clean or scrub it by hand, and don't forget the microwave and dishwasher filter. Then check closets, window sills, and the backs of doors.
If your move date is tight, a professional move-out clean is often cheaper than the deduction. We schedule around your move-out date across the OKC metro, from Norman student rentals to military moves near Tinker.
